About the Role

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurosurgery seek a Pediatric Neurosurgeon (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). Senior candidates will be considered for the position of Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. The candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in Morgantown, WV
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the pediatric surgical subspecialties, child and adolescent behavioral medicine/ neuropsychology, physiatry and rehabilitation, and neuroradiology
  • Provide compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve
  • Participate in the development of innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions across the lifespan
  • Work within the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, which is made up of a team of over 280 dedicated faculty in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry

Requirements

  • An MD or DO degree (foreign educational equivalents are considered)
  • Eligible for state medical licensure
  • Completed a neurosurgery residency program, pediatric neurosurgery fellowship, and be board certified/board eligible in pediatric neurosurgery

Benefits

WVU Medicine maintains 2 Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Programs both for Adults and for Children. The Epilepsy Center includes hardwired video-EEG monitoring units. The facility also features neuroimaging support including spectroscopic MRI and functional MRI and quantitative PET scans. Our new WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital opened in September 2022 and is the premier site within the state for primary through tertiary care of children.
