Physician, Pediatric Hospitalist
About the role
WVU Medicine, West Virginia University Health System Medical Group (WVUHS Medical Group) is actively recruiting a Physician Pediatric Hospitalist at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. The WVU Health System is the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprising 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states, five institutes, and providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements. It includes eleven member hospitals and five hospitals under management agreements, anchored by its flagship hospital, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, a 700+ bed academic medical center offering tertiary and quaternary care. WVU Medicine has more than 1,000 active medical staff members and 18,000 employees serving hundreds of thousands of people each year across West Virginia and the nation. The position is located at 1 Medical Park Drive, Wheeling, WV.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient clinical care to patients with disease and injuries of the human internal organ system.
- Establish preventive health practices for patients.
Requirements
- MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree (foreign educational equivalents accepted).
- Eligibility to obtain a state medical license.
- Completion of an accredited pediatric or pediatric/internal medicine residency program.
- Completion of a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship.
Qualifications
- Board eligible or certified in pediatrics.
- Expected to become board certified in pediatric hospital medicine within five years.
