We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Pain & Palliative Care Physician to join our growing healthcare team. This physician will play a vital role in improving quality of life for patients with serious, chronic, and life-limiting illnesses through expert symptom management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care.

About the role

The team consists of two physicians and one APN Provider and will treat patients in Woodland Park and Jersey City.

Schedule: Monday–Friday. On-call is every 6 weeks (Tuesday–Monday).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pain and symptom management for patients with serious and complex illnesses.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and case managers.
  • Facilitate goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning with patients and families.
  • Manage complex pain conditions utilizing evidence-based pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic approaches.
  • Participate in inpatient consultations, outpatient clinic visits, and care coordination activities.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, staff, and medical trainees on palliative care best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to program development.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or a related specialty.
  • Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and/or Pain Medicine preferred.
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient palliative care settings.
  • Experience leading family meetings and interdisciplinary care conferences.
  • Active New Jersey medical license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • DEA registration and CDS license (or ability to obtain).
  • AHA or American Red Cross BLS & ACLS certification.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Pay

Minimum compensation: $300,000 per year. Actual compensation considers specialty, relevant experience, and training.
