About the role

Bronson South Haven Internal Medicine is currently seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine Physician to join their established Internal Medicine practice in South Haven, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Hospital-employed, outpatient only position
  • Minimal Call required with after hours nurse triage
  • Team Approach with Ambulatory Care Manager, social worker, Pharmacist as well as nurse triage
  • As a Rural Health practice, we will work with the candidate to create a schedule to offer appointments as early as 7:30 am or as late as 7 pm at least one day a week
  • Full-time with flexible scheduling
  • M-F
  • Opportunities for participation in Committees and quality work

Requirements

  • BC/BE in Internal Medicine
  • Current and Unrestricted State Medical License as MD/DO and DEA Licensure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care

Qualifications

  • Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required
  • Current Medical License in the state of Michigan
  • Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration
  • Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette
  • Performs in a tactful and professional manner

Skills

  • Diagnose illnesses and prescribe as well as administer treatment for patients
  • Examine patients in addition to obtaining medical histories
  • Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Counsel patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet
  • Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating of clinical patients in order to meet their medical needs
  • Edits patient medical records
  • Participates in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements
  • Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients
