About the role

The position involves providing comprehensive care to patients with hematological and oncological conditions, both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include administering outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy, conducting examinations, determining diagnoses, and managing patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct examinations and determine diagnoses
• Administer outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Handle associated reactions to treatments
• Perform bone marrow aspiration/biopsies (performed by PA/NP)
• Supervise fellows in these procedures
• Maintain high clinical standards and teaching skills
• Teach fellows, residents, and medical students
• Oversee physician assistants and nurse practitioners

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen. Current, full and unrestricted medical license required. Must have completed residency training in an accredited program leading to board certification. Exceptions apply for residents in training programs.

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved medical school
• Completed residency training in an accredited program
• Full and unrestricted medical license

Pay

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP)

This position is eligible for the EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. Approval, award amount, and eligibility period are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after submission of the EDRP application.
