About the role

Baptist Health Medical Group (BHMG), part of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), is seeking to employ an Oncologic Endocrinologist to join the Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health Cancer Care. The institute has been awarded 11 High Performing ratings from U.S. News & World Report (2025-2026) for colon, lung, prostate, gynecological, blood, and complex cancers.

The Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute is Florida's only member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance. It brings together 116 dedicated physicians delivering comprehensive care, participates in 200 active clinical trials exploring new therapies, and has conducted more than 46,500 infusion visits and 20,350 diagnostic procedures annually.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a dedicated Endocrine Oncology practice focused on the diagnosis and management of advanced thyroid cancer, thyroid nodular disease, and adrenocortical carcinoma
  • Perform thyroid and cervical lymph node fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies in a dedicated outpatient FNA clinic
  • Collaborate with a high-volume endocrine surgery program consisting of three dedicated endocrine surgeons performing approximately 800 major endocrine procedures annually
  • Join an established multidisciplinary endocrine oncology program alongside three high-volume endocrine surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and advanced practice providers
  • Expand a unique endocrine oncology program and assume management of advanced thyroid cancer patients receiving targeted systemic therapies
  • Collaborate with one of the region's highest-volume endocrine surgery programs, which performs approximately 1,600–1,800 outpatient visits, 800–900 new consultations, more than 525 thyroid and cervical lymph node FNA biopsies, and 800 major endocrine surgical procedures annually, including thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery

Schedule

  • Outpatient-focused position with four days of clinic and one day of dedicated FNA clinic weekly
  • No routine hospital-based call coverage

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Active and unrestrictive medical license (or eligibility for licensure by start date)
  • Satisfactory completion of all required due diligence tasks and credentialing
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship training program
