Physician Office Nursing Supervisor - McLeod Pulmonology & Critical Care Associates Florence PBC - MRMC
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to the physician in assessing patient needs.
- Executes direct patient care tasks such as triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge, and follow-up instructions.
- Prepares patients for physician visits.
- Formulates initial databases by collecting pertinent information from patients and family, conducting observations, and evaluating patients.
- Documents all relevant information in the patient’s medical record.
- Carries out specialized tests and procedures as directed by the physician.
- Prepares medications and administers injections as prescribed.
- Provides patient education tailored to the situation.
- Schedules testing and referral appointments for patients as instructed by the physician.
- Communicates with patients via phone, addressing issues or referring calls to the physician.
- Follows up with patients as necessary.
- Assumes supervisory responsibilities as directed by the Administrator.
- Cleans and straightens examination rooms according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Maintains medical equipment and reports malfunctions to the office manager or appropriate personnel.
- Maintains medical supply inventory, checks expiration dates, and disposes of outdated medications.
- Orders medical supplies and assists with drug representative activities.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of all equipment needed for duties.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a clinical office setting.
- Required computer skills.
Requirements
- Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse.
