About the role
Winn Army Community Hospital is a 112-bed community hospital featuring a new Women’s Health and Mammography Center. Our healthcare team provides primary and specialty care for a patient population of over 70,000. As a civilian OB/GYN physician, you will play an integral role in providing exceptional healthcare to Soldiers and their families, supporting the 3rd Infantry Division. Key supporting specialties at Winn include general and orthopedic surgery, EENT, psychiatry, dermatology, and urology. The hospital offers a full inpatient and outpatient EMR with digital radiography.
Located in Coastal Georgia, the area offers good schools, new industry and community growth, and exceptional coastal recreation and golf. Hinesville/Savannah is less than 30 minutes from the beach, with a low cost of living and a vibrant nightlife. Nearby universities include Georgia Southern University, Armstrong Atlantic State University, and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Many physicians reside in upscale suburbs such as Richmond Hill, Pooler, and Hinesville, which offer direct deep-water access and small-town charm with close proximity to Savannah.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of OB/GYN care, including complex and difficult cases, and offer consultative services to other staff members.
- Refer complicated cases requiring specialized treatment or services to other civilian or military medical facilities when necessary.
- Examine, diagnose, treat, or prescribe courses of treatment for OB/GYN patients, including those with unusually complex conditions.
- Perform surgical procedures and assist in the Operating Room (OR) with minimal supervision, guiding and directing assisting medical officers, nurse anesthetists, and nurses.
- Perform basic colposcopy and treat dysplasia in OB/GYN patients.
- Instruct and supervise ancillary personnel in patient care and treatment.
- Administer and prescribe medicine and treatment, recording medical data or case history on prescribed Army Medical Department forms.
- Review and study medical history and progress of patients.
- Serve as a consultant in OB/GYN to other medical officers, particularly for complex cases.
- Provide on-call support to advise medical officers on procedures for difficult cases and answer questions from ward personnel regarding hospitalized OB/GYN patients.
- Respond to in-house OB/GYN calls and provide backup call coverage for other obstetricians.
- Conduct high-risk ultrasound clinics, including biometry, fetal surveillance, and biophysical profiles.
- Prepare basic infertility workups, evaluations, and treatments.
- Provide perinatal risk management conferences and staff education.
- Maintain a current, unrestricted medical license and pursue continuing medical education (CME) regularly.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Board eligible or certified in OB/GYN.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Pay
Up to $400,000 per year.
