About the Role

Rush University Medical Center invites applications for the position of Neuro-geneticist within the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program. This is a full-time clinical faculty/physician role primarily focused on outpatient care, with opportunities for research collaboration, educational initiatives, and leadership within the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG).

The program holds several Centers of Excellence designations and is the longest existing movement disorder program in Chicagoland. It includes an inpatient movement disorder consult service staffed by neurologists and run by movement disorder fellows, with fellows, students, residents, and videography as integral components.

The neuro-geneticist will participate in outpatient clinics (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) serving approximately 8,500 adult and pediatric patients annually, as well as multi-disciplinary programs such as the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), a collaborative center with the Department of Pediatrics. Opportunities for clinical research, program building, and supervision of residents and fellows are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient clinical care within the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary programs, including the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG).
• Engage in clinical research and educational initiatives.
• Contribute to leadership within the Rush Center for Genomic Medicine and neuro-genetics program building.
• Supervise residents and fellows.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical institution.
• Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Neurology.
• Eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher at Rush Medical College (rank commensurate with experience).
• Strong commitment to patient care, resident education, clinical medicine, and research.

Pay

Pay range for this full-time (1.0 FTE) position: $213,000 - $290,000.
