Physician - Medical Weight Management

Position Overview

Southcoast Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate physician to join their esteemed team. The successful candidate will contribute to their tradition of practice excellence and play a pivotal role in advancing patient care in the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations to diagnose clinical obesity, addressing its multifactorial nature with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Treat obesity as a chronic disease with evidence-based, personalized plans integrating medical, nutritional, behavioral, and emotional care.
• Ensure each patient receives high-quality care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage obesity-related conditions and comorbidities.
• Conduct in-person consultations at Southcoast's Fall River, Wareham, and Hyannis locations.
• Provide virtual consultations.
• Educate patients on the science and complexities of obesity, emphasizing a supportive environment.
• Currently using EPIC for all patient interactions.
• Document treatment plans and progress notes in accordance with practice protocols.
• Participate in community outreach and educational events to highlight awareness and guidance on nutrition and obesity care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Family or Internal Medicine (preference given to candidates certified in obesity medicine (ABOM)).
• Experience in providing care for patients with obesity & related conditions.
• Current state medical license and DEA registration.
• Demonstrated clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and effective communication skills.
