Opportunity Information Sutter Health Academic Affairs is seeking a part-time Physician Lead for Faculty Development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical education across one of the nation's largest integrated health systems by advancing educator development, academic leadership, and teaching excellence across Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME), and the Mark and Mary Stevens School of Medicine. Location: Emeryville, CA Position Details 0.3 FTE contracted leadership positionReports to the Sutter Chief Academic OfficerProvides strategic leadership for systemwide faculty development initiativesSupports physicians and advanced practice clinicians serving as educatorsLeads the development of educator competencies, faculty standards, and leadership pathwaysHelps launch and support the Sutter Health Academy of Medical EducatorsPartners with academic leaders across UME, GME, residency, fellowship, and medical school programs Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited institutionBoard certification in a recognized specialtyEligible for unrestricted California medical licensureMinimum seven years of progressive experience in medical education, faculty development, physician leadership, GME, UME, or academic administrationDemonstrated success as a clinician educator and physician leaderExperience working within a healthcare system, academic medical center, medical school, or GME environmentStrong collaborative leadership and relationship-building skills Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Medical Education, Health Professions Education, MPH, MBA, or related fieldExperience with LCME and/or ACGME accreditationExperience developing physician educators and educational leadersRecord of educational scholarship, innovation, or national engagement in medical educationAcademic appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher, or qualifications for such appointment Organization Details About Sutter Health Academic Affairs Sutter Health is committed to advancing medical education, physician leadership, and academic excellence.
