Physician - Interventional Cardiology

About the role

CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico in Alamogordo is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join its growing cardiology team. This full‑time, permanent position is designed to expand access to interventional cardiac care and reduce patient transfers for procedures. The incoming physician will have access to a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, modern hospital resources, and a supportive clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Perform coronary angioplasty and stent placement, right and left heart catheterization, diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemaker and AICD insertions, generator changes, lead revisions, loop recorder insertions/removals, stress test and echocardiogram readings.
• Maintain a clinic volume of 20–25 patients per day.
• Contribute to an annual cath/angio volume of approximately 500 cases.
• Participate in shared call coverage.
• Utilize EMR systems: GEMMS One (clinic), Cerner & Change Healthcare (hospital), with transition to Epic planned for March 2026.

Requirements

• Unrestricted New Mexico Medical License or eligibility to obtain licensure in New Mexico.

Qualifications

• Fellowship‑trained in Interventional Cardiology.

Skills

• Proficiency in interventional cardiology procedures (angioplasty, stenting, catheterizations, device implantations, etc.).
• Experience with GEMMS One, Cerner & Change Healthcare EMR platforms; familiarity with upcoming Epic implementation.
