Physician - Internal Medicine, Outpatient
West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Campus seeks internists for multiple full-time faculty outpatient-only positions. Ranks available are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will practice in Berkeley County Medical Center (BMC) or Jefferson County Medical Center (JMC).
About the role
The position is with the academic outpatient internal medicine department at WVU Medicine. A growing academic Internal Medicine section that affords the faculty member teaching opportunities with internal medicine residents and medical students in an outpatient clinical setting. The primary hospital is Berkeley Medical Center, a 200-bed teaching hospital in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, with a 19-bed ICU, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology, and the full range of medical and surgical consultative services. There are active Neurosurgical, Cardiovascular, and Oncology programs via our Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, Heart and Vascular Institute, and Cancer Institute, respectively. Additional tertiary care support is provided by a strong collaborative relationship with Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient care in the areas of Internal Medicine
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
- Take an active role in the new internal medicine residency program
- Participate in didactic conferences
- Engage in scholarly and research opportunities
Requirements
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
- Eligible for state medical license
- Completed an Internal Medicine residency program
- Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
