About the Role
Ambulatory Faculty Physicians (AFP) teach HonorHealth Internal Medicine residents in the practice of ambulatory internal medicine. The AFP provides medical care for patients in an ambulatory setting, participates in programs to deliver high-value healthcare, and may assist in curriculum coordination or administrative duties for the residency and hospital. The role serves as a clinical role model for resident physicians and contributes to educational and scholarly activities.
Responsibilities
- Act as an attending physician caring for patients at HonorHealth or HonorHealth Medical Group.
- Supervise resident care for patients at HonorHealth or HonorHealth Medical Group.
- Participate in scholarly activity and faculty development educational programs.
- Contribute to residency, hospital, and community-related committees as assigned.
- Teach students, residents, and faculty at weekly conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree (Required).
- Strong clinical and teaching skills.
- Successful completion of a residency in Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Required).
- Eligible for Arizona State Medical License.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine by ABIM (Required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a faculty member in a post-graduate residency training program.
- Completion of a 1-year general internal medicine fellowship or a post-residency Chief Medical Resident position in an Internal Medicine residency program.
