Physician - Infectious Disease Physician

About the role

Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans is searching for infectious disease physicians to join the Department of Infectious Diseases. Positions are available for a strong infectious disease physician and two energetic infectious disease physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients with infectious diseases
• Participate in academic activities, including teaching and research
• Support the inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases practices
• Collaborate with infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship teams
• Contribute to the clinical research program
• May be eligible for a faculty appointment at the University of Queensland School of Medicine, Brisbane, Australia

Requirements

• Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases
• Strong clinical skills and professional behavior
• Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the University of Queensland School of Medicine, Brisbane, Australia

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Infectious Diseases

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong research and teaching abilities
