About The Opportunity
Hawai‘i Pacific Health is seeking a highly motivated and Board Certified or Board Eligible Hospitalist to join our collaborative group that provides comprehensive inpatient care for the islands of Hawaii.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients admitted with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, diagnostic assessment, and development of evidence-based treatment plans.
- Manage admissions, daily rounding, cross-coverage, and discharges while ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and care teams.
- Care for medically complex patients in collaboration with consulting services, including subspecialists, nursing, pharmacy, and case management.
- Respond to acute clinical changes and emergencies, including rapid response and code situations, working closely with emergency medicine, ICU, and specialty teams.
- Facilitate smooth transitions of care through timely discharge planning, medication reconciliation, and communication with primary care and post-acute providers.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, clinical pathway development, and adoption of evidence-based best practices within hospital medicine.
- Contribute to a supportive teaching environment as applicable, including collaboration with advanced practice providers, residents, and medical staff.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible to obtain a medical license in the State of Hawaii
