Physician – Hospitalist – Swing/Admitter - dual coverage, teaching opportunity - Montana

This position is not considering 2027 at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Two dedicated swing shift physicians each day, working 7 am – 5 pm or 11 am – 9 pm, 7 on 7 off, averaging 9 admissions per day
  • Oversight of Internal Medicine Residents on the admitter service
  • Day rounder assistance with admissions if needed
  • Designated private office space in the clinical decision unit area attached directly to the emergency department
  • Additional after-hours resources for support and collaboration include 2 dedicated nocturnists on shift from 7p-7a, at least 2 board certified emergency medicine physicians on shift, and 24/7 in-house intensivist coverage
  • Cover only 1 hospital with 349 acute care beds, admitting/consulting on medical, surgical, and obstetric patients 18 years of age and older

About the Role

Benefis Health System is one of Montana’s largest tertiary centers holding a level II trauma designation.
