Physician Hospitalist

About the role

This hospital-employed position is located at a leading acute-care facility in Kansas City. The schedule is 7-on 7-off with an admitter role, focusing on handling ED admissions to allow rounding hospitalists to maintain uninterrupted rounds. The ICU is open with 24/7 intensivists on-site; no codes, rapids, or rapid responses are required. There are no procedures or vent management duties; intensivists manage the ICU until stepdown.

Responsibilities

• Handle ED admissions to support rounding hospitalists
• Admit patients to maintain continuity of care
• Work within an ICU environment managed by intensivists

Requirements

• Internal medicine or experienced family practice background preferred
• Comfortable working with underserved and inner-city patient populations

Schedule

• 7-on 7-off day schedule
