Physician - Hospital Medicine Days

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospitalist to join our team at Ochsner Rush - Meridian, MS. The position involves covering 215-bed hospital with a 23-bed ICU and a 49-bed LTAC, working 6 am to 6 pm, and covering 15 patients per physician per shift.

Responsibilities

• Admissions, consults, discharges, and inpatient rounds: ICU rounds and procedures required only during nights
• Running codes
• Utilizing telemedicine in Critical Access Hospitals

Requirements

Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.

Qualifications

Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Skills

Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills are crucial. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.

Salary is commensurate with experience and training.

7 on/7off Block Scheduling, 6 am to 6 pm shifts.

Meridian, a mid-sized town with a population of 45 to 50,000. It is centrally located with rapid access to major cities including New Orleans, LA (3 hours); Jackson, MS (1.5 hours); Birmingham, AL (2.5 hours); Atlanta, GA (4 hours); and the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL (3.5 hours).
