This permanent leadership opportunity involves overseeing hospice and palliative care services within a well-established health system in Albany, Georgia. The role includes clinical oversight, hospice certification and recertification, quality initiatives, consultation support for providers and care teams, and direct patient care focused on symptom management and end-of-life care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee hospice and palliative care services
- Collaborate with team physicians and referring providers to coordinate care
- Review quality of documentation of physicians and mid-levels
- Ensure appropriate pain control consistent with current hospice and palliative standards
- Lead quality initiatives and consultative support
- Provide direct patient care focusing on symptom management and end-of-life care
Requirements
- Hospice & Palliative Care Fellowship Trained
- Inpatient Position Within the Hospital and Hospice Homes
- Experience Collaborating with Team Physicians and Referring Providers to Coordinate Care
- Experience in Peer Review - Reviewing Quality of Documentation of Physicians and Mid-Level Staff
- Experience Ensuring Appropriate Pain Control Consistent with Current Hospice and Palliative Standards
- Experience Leading Quality Initiatives and Consultative Support
- Experience Providing Direct Patient Care Focusing on Symptom Management and End-of-Life Care
Qualifications
- Medical Director Experience Preferred
