About the role
The West Virginia University School of Medicine Department of Medical Oncology and the WVU Cancer Institute are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join our growing statewide cancer network. This faculty opportunity is available at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Practice primarily at two locations, with approximately 60% of clinical effort based at Thomas Memorial Hospital and 40% at Jackson General Hospital.
- Provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care, including the diagnosis and management of both malignant and benign hematologic conditions.
- Treatment planning, systemic therapy oversight, supportive care, survivorship care, and close coordination with multidisciplinary colleagues in other specialties.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Opportunities to participate in clinical research, quality improvement, or program development.
Requirements
- Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
- Successful candidates must have completed internal medicine residency program, as well as hematology/oncology fellowship program.
- Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in hematology and/or oncology at the time of appointment.
