The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is seeking an academically oriented Head & Neck/ENT Surgical Pathologist for the Division of Anatomic Pathology. This is a full-time appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professorial rank on either the tenured or non-tenure clinical track, depending on qualifications.

The department is experiencing rapid growth and has established a subspecialization practice model, performing over 5.5 million tests and accessioning over 56,000 surgical pathology cases annually with a large case variety. There is an active ENT surgery department, with around 2,000 ENT cases per year. The University of Kansas Health System is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, providing rich opportunities for clinical and translational research.

Responsibilities

  • ENT diagnostic sign-out
  • Participate in 1-2 additional subspecialty areas
  • General surgical pathology frozen section services
  • Contribute to medical student, resident, and fellow training
  • Develop research projects reflective of personal interests

Requirements

  • M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or D.O. degree
  • Board certified or eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Qualifications

  • Fellowship training or practice experience in Head & Neck/ENT Pathology (preferred)
