About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Physician specialized in Endocrinology and Obesity Medicine to join our innovative, multidisciplinary chronic disease management team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a telemedicine clinical setting, focusing on evidence-based treatment for obesity and comprehensive diabetes management, including insulin titration and care of patients who may already be using insulin pumps and/or continuous glucose monitors (CGMs).
  • Collaborate with APP colleagues and Registered Dietitians specializing in diabetes treatment, primarily Type 2 Diabetes, to co-manage a shared patient panel.
  • Review charts and conduct initial and return visits for APP patients every third visit to ensure quality, continuity of care, and appropriate management of CKD/ESRD and CAD/CV conditions.
  • Provide advanced treatment planning and medical management support for complex endocrinology cases, escalated concerns, and patients requiring specialized management protocols.
  • Prescribe non-controlled medications, including those for obesity and diabetes, for patients under both direct care and in coordination with APPs.
  • Conduct weekly 30 minute collaborative meetings and 30 min asynchronous communication time with each assigned Endocrine-Specialized APP to review cases, address clinical challenges, and provide ongoing mentorship.
  • Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently within the team, with a focus on guidelines for managing complex diabetic populations.
  • Aid in the professional development of colleagues by fostering clinical growth, offering feedback, and supporting continuing education in both endocrinology and obesity medicine.
  • Participate in team-based care initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and high-quality care.
  • Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the diabetes and obesity medicine program.

Requirements

  • Required: Board certification in Endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Required: Active and unrestricted medical license in at least one of the following states: CA, TX, IL, MA, NY, or in any IMLC-participating state with a valid Letter of Qualification (LOQ) and ability to obtain additional state licenses
  • Required: Current or prior credentialing with insurance payers
  • Highly Preferred: Certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or demonstrated extensive clinical experience (minimum 3 years) in obesity medicine and pharmacotherapy (older generation oral and newer injectable medications).
  • Minimum of 5 years as an attending physician in endocrinology.
  • Demonstrated competency and comfort in managing patients with complex co-morbidities, including CKD, ESRD, and CAD/CV conditions.
  • Expertise in advanced diabetes management, including the use of CGMs, insulin pumps, and complex insulin regimens.
  • Strong interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with Endocrine-Specialized APPs and Registered Dietitians specializing in diabetes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adherence to evidence-based treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy for both endocrine disorders and obesity.
  • Committed to delivering patient-centered, culturally competent care.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in internal medicine
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in endocrinology

Pay

Base Annual Salary: $210,000 - $225,000 USD

Schedule

Full-time position based in a remote, telemedicine clinical setting. Reduced clinical schedule during on-call periods.
