Physician - Endocrinologist

About the role

MaineHealth Endocrinology & Diabetes is seeking a full‑time BC/BE Endocrinologist to join a team of 15 physicians and 8 advanced practice providers in the greater Portland, Maine area. The position is based primarily in Scarborough with opportunities to support practice outreach initiatives in new and existing clinics across Maine.

Responsibilities

• Provide endocrinology and diabetes management services to patients with thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, transgender, reproductive, growth, bone, diabetes, lipid and other hormonal disorders.
• Perform dynamic testing, infusion services, DXA, I‑131 therapy, thyroid ultrasound and on‑site biopsy as needed.
• Support practice outreach initiatives by delivering care in new and existing outreach clinics.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement projects.
• Contribute to didactic sessions for MaineHealth Maine Medical Center residents and medical students from the MaineHealth Maine Medical Center‑Tufts University School of Medicine program.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, endocrine surgeons, and maternal‑fetal medicine specialists, including the Diabetes in Pregnancy program.

Requirements

• Fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
• Board certified or board eligible (BC/BE) in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

Pay

Annual base salary of $285,000.
