Department/Division Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center operates across multiple locations, treating approximately 120,000 patients in the Emergency Departments and 75,000 patients in the Advanced Urgent Cares annually. The department offers two residency programs and supports research in various fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs and provides patient care, including the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents.
  • Teaching, research, and service requirements as assigned by the Chairperson, Department of Emergency Medicine.
  • May be involved in clinical care, depending on candidate experience and department need.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited residency training program required.
  • Current license to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required.
  • Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Emergency Medicine required.
  • Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required.

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience level.
