Locum tenens Family Medicine Physician opportunity in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, offering a Monday through Friday schedule, strong pay, and a supportive clinical team. About the role
This locum tenens Family Medicine Physician role provides comprehensive primary care for an adult patient population with both acute and chronic health needs. It is an excellent opportunity for a physician who values hands-on clinical care, sound medical judgment, and a well-organized weekday schedule.
Schedule
- Monday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Tuesday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift
- 40 weekly hours
- Start date: August 21, 2026
- Duration: 19 weeks with potential to extend
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive family medicine and primary care services for adult patients
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients using sound clinical judgment
- Develop individualized care plans and provide patient education on prevention and disease management
- Order medications, refills, ancillary testing, and referrals as appropriate
- Lead and support advanced practice providers and clinical support personnel
- Perform routine procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage
- Address acute patient issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Support quality, compliance, and care coordination efforts
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Active Pennsylvania medical license required
- At least 1 year of clinical experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Strong skills in primary care, diagnosis, prevention, and chronic disease management
- Comfort managing routine and acute patient concerns
- Ability to work collaboratively with advanced practice providers and clinical support staff
- Basic procedural skills such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage
