About the role
A Physician employed by ASU Health Services (ASUHS) is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of university students, faculty, and staff in an ambulatory care facility. Specific responsibilities include:
- Practice of medicine in an outpatient setting
- Consultation and supervision of other healthcare professionals
- Teaching undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate resident physicians
- Involvement with educational activities within the university
- Health promotion, wellness concepts, and preventive health care
- Provision of medical care to the disabled, women’s health care, or other specialty services
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients in an outpatient setting
- Supervise assigned healthcare professionals for patient care tasks
- Utilize electronic health records
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security rules
- Engage in health promotion and preventive health care initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
- Considerable knowledge and skill in the practice of medicine
- Experience with healthcare for late adolescents and young adults
- Experience or interest in health promotion and preventive health care
- Ability to utilize electronic health records
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security rules
- Experience or training with medical care of the disabled

Pay
$160,000.00 to $191,500.00 per year
Schedule
- Monday – Friday (scheduled as assigned by supervisor)
- 40 hours per week
Working Environment
- Environmentally controlled office setting
- Extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and computer use (75%)
- Standing, walking moderate distances, and varying lengths of time (15%)
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds (10%)
- Periodic local, regional, and national travel involving motor vehicle operation and non-standard work hours
- Regular use of standard office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copier, telephone, etc.)
