Physician Compensation Analyst
About the role
Performs complex planning and analysis functions, organizes, implements, and manages physician compensation plans and projects following guidelines established by Leadership. Designs, develops, and utilizes financial monitoring tools, performs quantitative analysis, and provides decision guidance, particularly in interpretation of trends and variance analysis.
Leads consultations with PSAs and Service Line leaders to design tools that heighten physician engagement and compensation transparency. Leads the Physician Compensation Department team to accomplish these goals.
Responsibilities
- Provides counsel and assistance to physician compensation staff on issues related to physician compensation practices, policies, and procedures.
- Serves as a mentor to train and develop staff, including training new staff on Physician Compensation procedures and policies.
- Audits and maintains physician labor tracking systems and provides financial analyses support.
- Leads Physician Compensation Department teams to create, design, or improve physician compensation reports, plans, databases, or documentation to enhance processes and procedures.
- Consults with leadership on current compensation processes, procedures, and policies; refers complex questions, issues, or concerns to Leadership.
- Establishes and maintains successful working relationships with assigned administrators, Leadership, payroll, and legal departments.
- Develops and improves physician compensation report automation and conducts process advancement initiatives to enhance accuracy of report templates.
- Conducts accurate compensation calculations, analyses, and evaluations according to compensation policies and practices for all assigned requests.
- Performs monthly physician compensation calculations accurately and on time.
- Provides detailed physician compensation analysis and proactively anticipates leadership questions, supplying pertinent data, analysis, and market information to enable informed decisions.
- Collaborates with requestors on best next steps based on compensation analyses, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Assists in developing new physician compensation plans while ensuring current methodology is established and maintained; communicates methodology and results to Leadership.
- Ensures required documentation is maintained in an organized manner.
- Works with Leadership to determine fair market value for external and internal candidates, considering organizational strategy and physician specialty needs.
Requirements
- BA or equivalent knowledge in Finance or a related field.
- Typically requires 5 years of relevant experience.
