Physician - Co-Medical Director Adult Hospitalist
The Hospitalist Medical Director at MultiCare provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for the hospital medicine program. This role includes directing patient care alongside responsibility for quality improvement, provider engagement, scheduling, and alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient clinical care as a hospitalist, maintaining regular clinical presence within the team.
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of hospitalist physicians and APPs.
- Oversee provider scheduling and staffing to ensure 24/7 coverage and service line consistency.
- Monitor performance metrics including length of stay, readmissions, documentation, and throughput.
- Support clinical quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based care pathways.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, peer feedback, and provider development.
- Collaborate with nursing, case management, and specialty services to improve interdisciplinary care.
- Represent hospitalist interests and administrative forms, hospital committees, and strategic planning.
- Addressed provider concerns, professionalism issues, and intradepartmental communication needs.
- Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, and documentation and clinical documentation integrity standards.

Pay and Benefits
We provide a competitive salary range of $284,960.00 - $372,320.00 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. Associated benefit information can be viewed here.
