About the role
Ochsner Health seeks a highly skilled and experienced Physician - Chair, Emergency Medicine to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role oversees the emergency department operations, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to emergency medicine.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant clinical experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
