About the role

Ochsner Health seeks a highly skilled and experienced Physician - Chair, Emergency Medicine to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role oversees the emergency department operations, ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to emergency medicine.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant clinical experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of emergency medicine practices and protocols.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule
