Physician, Cardiovascular ICU
Summary of Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for cardiac surgery patients.
- Manage patients in the 16-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU).
- Support advanced care including complex and minimally invasive valve repair, coronary bypass, aortic surgery, robotic cardiac surgery, and transcatheter interventions.
- Participate in the mechanical circulatory support program (ECMO and VAD).
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with other physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure patient safety and quality care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development activities.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) programs.
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Current Pennsylvania Medical License.
- Completion of a Cardiovascular Surgery residency program.
- Experience in managing critically ill cardiac surgery patients.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
