Responsibilities
- Assess health status of pediatric, adolescent, or adult patients through health history, taking physical examination and diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement plans for providing treatment of illness or injury related to the nervous system, such as seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, or Alzheimer’s disease
- Work independently using his or her best professional judgment while practicing medicine
- Work interdependently with other health care providers and health care staff in a team environment
- Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with IMS credentialing/privileging policy. Including but not limited to:
- Arrhythmia management
- Cardiac catheterization
- Cardiac stress testing
- Dobutamine stress test
- Echocardiography
- Electrocardiogram (i.e., EKG)
- Exercise treadmill test
- Holter recording/event monitoring
- Peripheral vascular disease treatment]
- Pharmacologic stress test
- Stress echocardiogram
- Vascular ultrasound imaging
Requirements
- One year of post full licensure experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathic medicine
- Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Arizona
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures
- The ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion
- Knowledge of and follow HIPAA guidelines and secure Protective Health information at all times
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service
- Document patient information and visit information into IMS’ Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely manner
- Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit
- Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations
- Renders care to IMS patients in accordance with quality and standards as are established by IMS, the standards of care prevailing in the community, applicable law, and according to state and federal grant requirements for non-discrimination regardless of status, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, age, or ability to pay
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to perform CPR on infants, children, and adults without assistance
