About the role
Provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adult and geriatric inpatients in a hospital-based setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients on Adult Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry units
- Manage psychiatric emergencies
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide medication management
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including nursing, social work, therapy, and case management, to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
- Provide psychiatric consultation services for patients admitted to medical and surgical floors
- Document care in the electronic medical record
- Participate in discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards
Schedule
7-on/7-off schedule, providing continuity of inpatient and consultation services during scheduled work weeks.
