Position Overview

We are seeking a PRN Family Medicine Physician to join our behavioral health team. This role combines primary care expertise with a focus on supporting patients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. The Family Medicine Physician will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, integrated care, addressing both physical and behavioral health needs to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including physical exams, to identify and treat physical health conditions alongside behavioral health challenges.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to develop and implement integrated treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Manage and treat chronic and acute medical conditions in patients with co-occurring mental health or substance use disorders.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, including psychotropic medications, in coordination with psychiatrists and other specialists.
  • Provide preventive care and health education to support patients’ overall well-being.
  • Participate in case conferences with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Document patient interactions, diagnoses, and treatment plans in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about advancements in family medicine and behavioral health to incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine (or eligibility for certification).
  • Valid state medical license to practice.
  • Experience or interest in behavioral health and integrated care settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care.

Work Environment

  • Clinical setting, including outpatient clinics, community health centers, or integrated care facilities.
  • Collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • May include on-call responsibilities or after-hours consultations as needed.
