Physician Associate or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist

The role involves Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) evaluating and treating patients primarily on the hospital medicine ward, with responsibilities also including admissions and consultative services to various sub-specialties within the hospital, including the emergency department.

About the role

This position is full-time, with a variable, request-based schedule that includes weekend and holiday shifts. New graduates are welcome to apply. Scheduled hours are 10-hour shifts; daytime shifts (7 am to 5 pm), with the potential for swing shifts (9am to 7pm). Part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Able to effectively triage, organize, and prioritize tasks.
• Able to function as part of a team.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care. Participate in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine.
