Physician Associate - OBGYN
Position Responsibilities
Prepares complete detailed and accurate patient histories for wellness maintenance, contraceptive needs, menopausal symptoms, or minor gynecologic problems.
Documents findings on appropriate chart forms which are recorded in patient medical records. This may involve dictating clinical notes.
Performs, orders, and interprets routine laboratory tests; performs follow-up notification to patients about laboratory results, with particular attention to abnormal results.
Prescribes medications in specified circumstances.
Follows up on patients who do not return for scheduled appointments.
Required Qualifications
- Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Associate Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
- 1-3 years of experience as an APP in Women's Health.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to serve as a liaison and to collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and other customers.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
