About the Organization

Wake Emergency Physicians, PA (WEPPA) is an independent group of over 150 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and over 135 advanced practice providers based in Raleigh, NC. WEPPA staffs emergency departments across multiple counties, including:

• Eight emergency departments within the WakeMed Health and Hospital system in Raleigh
• Two emergency departments within the Johnston UNC Health Care system in Clayton and Smithfield (30 and 45 minutes from central Raleigh)
• Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC (50 minutes from central Raleigh)
• UNC Health Wayne Emergency Department in Goldsboro, NC (1 hour from central Raleigh)
• UNC Health Lenoir Emergency Department in Kinston, NC (1 hour and 25 minutes from central Raleigh)
• Granville Medical Center in Oxford, NC (1 hour from central Raleigh)

Staffing environments vary from rural centers and freestanding emergency departments to a large Level 1 Trauma Center. WEPPA’s Physician Assistant program is designed to foster a supportive, collegial, and learning-rich environment to train highly skilled PAs interested in a career in emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant within WEPPA, you will work in emergency departments across various locations, collaborating with physicians and other providers in diverse clinical settings.
