Physician Assistant - Vascular Surgery - OR/IP/OP
Baylor Scott & White Health – Fort Worth is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Vascular Surgery team. This position offers a mix of outpatient clinic and OR responsibilities, with a heavier emphasis on outpatient care while the physician focuses on surgical procedures.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) looking to work in a dynamic, growing vascular practice. The role involves a balanced mix of outpatient clinic work (at least 3 days per week) and inpatient/OR duties.
Responsibilities
- Manage outpatient vascular surgery patients, including pre- and post-operative care, follow-ups, and new patient consults.
- Round on inpatients and assist in the OR.
- Collaborate closely with the vascular surgeon and team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including treatment plans, clinical notes, and patient education.
Requirements
- PA licensure in Texas.
- 2+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred (vascular, surgical, or related specialty).
- Comfortable managing outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, and assisting in the OR.
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
About the team
Vascular Surgical Specialists – Fort Worth includes 2 full-time vascular surgeons and an APP team of 3. The environment is collaborative, focused on high-quality patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings. Average patient census is 12.
Schedule
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts.
- Weekday and weekend rounding on rotation with another APP.
- Additional pay provided for after-hours and weekend coverage.
