Physician Assistant - Trauma Orthopedic Surgery
About the role
The orthopedic surgical APP is a vital member of the surgical team. They collaborate with the patient, pertinent family members, and medical multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal care. They play a critical role in perioperative management assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring comprehensive recovery.
Responsibilities
- Partner with an established Orthopedic Surgery service.
- Aid in surgery and work in growing outpatient clinic.
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and industry regulations.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice by optimizing surgical efficiency, implementing enhanced recovery protocols, and supporting coordination of care.
- Preoperative Care Management
- Intraoperative Assistance (Surgical 1st Assist)
- Postoperative Care Management
- Patient Education
- Educate patients on recovery strategies.
- Perform bedside procedures.
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice by optimizing surgical efficiency, implementing enhanced recovery protocols, and supporting coordination of care.
Requirements
- Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment.
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.

Pay and Benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $166,800.00 - $187,200.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
