Physician Assistant - Procedural Focus
Position Summary
We seek an experienced Physician Assistant with strong ICU procedural experience to provide exceptional inpatient and procedural care. You will collaborate with physicians to manage complex cases, perform procedures, and support positive patient outcomes in a dynamic LTACH and acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical exams for complex medical and post-acute patients.
- Perform and assist with procedures such as central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, wound debridement, suturing, lumbar punctures, and other invasive/minor surgical interventions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide daily rounding, manage acute changes in condition, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery, and preventive care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program; current Illinois PA license and NCCPA certification.
- Minimum 2+ years of procedural experience as a PA (hospitalist, surgery, critical care, or emergency medicine preferred).
- Proficiency in common inpatient procedures and comfort managing complex, chronically ill patients.
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
- BLS/ACLS certification required; procedural privileging will be supported.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
