About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider or APP [Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)] is a licensed medical provider who functions as part of a physician-led health care team. The APP manages the patients along with the attending physician, autonomously ordering diagnostic and therapeutic measures to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care. The APP acts as a liaison between the patient and all providers on the team, coordinating care when multiple physicians and providers are involved.
Responsibilities
- Manage patients autonomously, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
- Continually monitor and adjust patient care, acting as the patient advocate.
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the health care team, including family members.
- Execute standing orders/protocols and routine patient care tasks as outlined in the written agreement.
- Perform and assist with perioperative and operative procedures.
- Enhance continuity of quality patient care, communicate effectively with the medical team, and extend the capabilities of the medical care team.
Requirements
- Two (2) years’ experience as an Advance Practice Provider or Board eligible graduate preferred.
- Bachelor of Science degree required.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program (for Physician Assistants).
- Education must include certification or eligibility for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants) and Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
- Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program (for Physician Assistants).
- Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP).
Skills
- Strong clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
- Experience with surgical procedures and perioperative care.
Pay
Up to $6,000 per year based upon Full or Part Time status.
Schedule
Night shift 7p-7a with weekend and Holiday rotations.
