Physician Assistant, Ortho Hand Team- North Liberty Campus

Position Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent care, preform and interpret diagnostic testing (X-rays, advanced imaging, labs), perform injections, and prescribe, dispense, or deliver medications under a collaborative practice agreement.
• Show a willingness to learn, collaborate with a team, and provide cross coverage for the team when needed.
• Serve as a supervisor for the care delivered to patients.
• Perform /order medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
• Consult/collaborate with other care team members.
• Use judgment to apply/adopt information within total clinical picture to address health issues while influencing others to adopt best practices.
• Complete patient medical records, reports, and forms to record treatment for EMR and billing purposes.
• Improve quality of care by performing chart reviews and participating on performance improvement committees.
• Provide health education to patients and medical education to health professions students and residents.
• Participate in ongoing research and professional development of self and other staff.
• Establish and maintain procedures and systems to ensure staff compliance with policies and standards of care.
• Initiate corrective action as needed.

Requirements

• Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
• A Master’s degree is highly desired.
• Experience Requirements: 2 or more years of experience working as an advanced practice provider is required. Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of orthopedic patient care is highly desired. Experience working in an orthopedic setting.

Qualifications
