About the role

University of Minnesota Physicians, in partnership with CentraCare, is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice in St. Cloud, MN. The Orthopedic Section is a multispecialty practice with fellowship-trained sports medicine, adult reconstruction, foot and ankle and trauma surgeons, and primary care sports medicine physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary or specialty medical care within the scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, offering a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with orthopaedic health conditions
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Document accurate progress notes
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures
  • Facilitate communication with patients, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in the development of quality indicators
  • Acquire information on current trends in the NP/PA field through educational programs, conferences, and professional associations

Schedule

  • 1.0 FTE
  • Monday – Friday – clinic and surgical hours, clinic seeing outpatients, outpatient surgery, and inpatient surgery with rounding
  • Call (1 in 10 weekends, 1 in 10 evenings) at a level II trauma center
  • Potential for travel to outreach clinics in Monticello or Paynesville

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program
  • Eligible or certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NPs)
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges
  • Must be licensed with first assist from either accredited training or PA-C program

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with joint injections

Pay and benefits

The full-time salary range is $137,366 - $168,454 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
