Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APP) - Full Time Overnight Cross cover - Internal Medicine
About the role
The overnight Cross Cover APP position supports the overnight team at Highland Hospital to manage patient loads and enhance care efficiency. The schedule rotates every two months, alternating between Sunday-Tuesday and Wednesday-Friday shifts, with shared holiday coverage.
Responsibilities
- Complete history and physical exams on assigned admissions, including medication reconciliation and appropriate lab and diagnostic testing.
- Order medications, therapy evaluations, and consult appropriate services for any acute issues identified on admission.
- Collaborate with attending MDs on the plan of care, admitting patients to various departments including family medicine, geriatrician, Wilmot Cancer Center, and chronic vent services.
Requirements
- Fulfilled the requirements to be a licensed PA or NP in NYS.
- Experience in medical management of house-covered patients or Emergency Room/ICU training.
- NYS License for PA candidates, and current, valid license to practice as an NP in NYS for NP candidates.
- BLS certification, ACLS preferred.
Qualifications
Must maintain adequate CME credits for ongoing competency and keep current NYS license and NCCPA Certification.

Pay
Salary Range: $98,000.00 - $130,083.20 annually. Individual salaries are determined based on factors including education, experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
Rotating schedule with one month of Sunday-Tuesday overnight shifts followed by one month of Wednesday-Friday shifts. Shared holiday coverage required for 2 or 3 of 9 observed holidays per year.
