Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care - South Shore - FT

About the role

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Ochsner Health. Our mission is to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate, and we value the contributions of every member of our team.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff in outpatient clinic settings.
• Assumes responsibility for primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients.
• Teaches residents and medical students, develops staff development and education programs, and provides patient education and discharge planning.

Requirements

• Licenses as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
• 3 years’ related working experience preferred.

Qualifications

• License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
• Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC or AANPCP.

Skills

• Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and software packages specific to role.
