Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (Pediatric Focus)

About the role

This full-time, exempt position provides general primary and preventive health care counseling and treatment for patients in accordance with licensure and approved privileges. As a team member, you will support patients in achieving health goals and improving health outcomes, with a primary focus on our pediatric patient population. While the role centers on pediatrics, you will also see patients of all ages across multiple clinics:

• Pediatric specialty clinic (Kids Journey)
• School Based Health Centers (Orchard, Medicine Crow, and Senior High)
• Child Advocacy Clinic

The position includes intermittent work with learners such as APP students and resident trainees, as well as coverage at off-campus clinics (e.g., schools, Bridger, Joliet).

Responsibilities

• Counsel and educate patients about health issues including diet, nutrition, emotional and mental health, sexually transmitted diseases, cancer, and contraceptives.
• Assess patients’ health lifestyles by taking complete medical histories.
• Review patient medications and perform physical examinations.
• Collect medical specimens and perform basic medical tests.
• Order medical laboratory tests and/or X-rays, evaluate results, and interpret them to patients.
• Treat diagnosed conditions and provide surgical or other medical referrals as necessary.
• Keep supervisors and designated team members informed about work progress, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
• Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions; review publications and materials to stay current in the field.
• Respond to patient and community questions courteously and promptly.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with team members to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
• Participate in fulfilling RiverStone Health’s vision, mission, goals, and educational focus.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of RiverStone’s mission (≤5% of role).

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Advanced Practice Nursing program.
• One year of clinical practice in primary care and/or pediatric experience.
• Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Montana, in good standing.
• Credentialed and privileged in accordance with RiverStone Health Clinic processes.
• BLS Certificate.

Working Conditions

• Work is mainly performed in a clinic setting with standing, bending, and lifting required.
• Regular exposure to biological pathogens and contagious diseases; PPE and precautions are mandatory.
• Expected to drive a vehicle in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Responsible for 4–10 patients per session, up to 25 patients per day.
• Daily written and verbal communication with patients, families, co-workers, and providers.

Pay

$110,000 to $149,512 annually, depending on years of transferrable experience and internal equity.
