Job Summary

The Urgent Care Fellowship program at WellNow Urgent Care offers a minimum 9-month rotation designed to enhance clinical experience in Urgent Care Medicine. Fellows will receive comprehensive training in core competencies and will be prepared for success in a fast-paced environment.

Program Overview

The program aims to provide fellows with structured cognitive and clinical education to become competent and proficient urgent care providers. It includes hands-on patient care, lectures, and a didactic curriculum led by experienced faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Urgent Care teams under the mentorship of experienced NP/PA’s to provide care for patients.
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease.
  • Order evidence-based testing, prescribe medications, and refer to outside specialists as needed.
  • Provide occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and Worker’s Compensation injury treatment.
  • Perform pre-participation physicals for camps, sports, and employment.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient charts.
  • Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited approved PA or FNP program.
  • Physician Assistants must have active board certification with NCCPA.
  • Family Nurse Practitioners must have active board certification with AANP or ANCC.
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state where you are applying is required.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn.

Benefits

The fellowship offers a competitive salary of $95,000 annually, along with a signing bonus of $10,000. Comprehensive benefits include continuing education options.
