Physician Assistant - Neurology/Stroke

About the role

As a Physician Assistant, your strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care will support the delivery of high-quality neurological care. In this role, you will work with patients at Rochester General Hospital and Unity Hospital, providing hospital follow-up and ongoing post-stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Evaluate and manage patients following hospitalization for acute stroke and other neurological conditions; obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations; assess patient progress and develop and implement treatment plans
• Follow-Up Care: Provide post-stroke follow-up and ongoing management, monitor response to treatment, address new or recurring symptoms, and coordinate appropriate diagnostic testing and specialty care
• Treatment: Prescribe medications, provide patient education, and make appropriate referrals in collaboration with the neurology team
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, update patient charts, and complete required clinical documentation

Requirements

• BS: Physician Assistant (Required)
• PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Physical Requirements

• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00
