Responsibilities

  • Provide primary health care to patients.
  • Perform examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries.
  • Refer to physician as needed.
  • Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
  • Educate patients and families and help them understand issues related to physical and emotional health and promote wellness.
  • Participate in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
  • Maintain thorough and complete medical records in a timely manner and demonstrate proficiency in using the Electronic Medical Record documentation system.
  • Refer patients to specialty services when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with staff and physicians to identify patient’s needs and help develop a plan to meet those needs.
  • Provide professional medical services within the scope of training and responsibility, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Facilitate call requirements as designated to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.

Qualifications

Required: Active Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.

Desired: Related experience.
