Physician Assistant - MICU - Night Shift

About the Role

Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), coordinate treatment plans, and support clinical research efforts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care, including evaluation, treatment modification, and patient education.
• Prescribe medications, medical devices, and therapies in accordance with protocols and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Support clinical research activities, including patient screening and data collection.
• Ensure quality improvement and monitor patient outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical resource and educator for peers and staff.
• Maintain certification, participate in professional development, and adhere to practice standards.
• Facilitate patient flow, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements

• BA-PA degree.
• New York State Physician Assistant license.
• NCCPA certification.
• Basic Life Support certification; additional ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience across medical and surgical disciplines.
